vpDude Help

this page is not available in english. but like this:

why "vpDude"?

at first this is your Dude that organizes our clips. tell him what tags you're looking for. this Dude is also connected to videopong and downloads the clips for you.

what file formats are working?

actually its the same as on videopong.net but it allows those file-endings:
"avi", "mov", "mp4", "flv", "qt", "swf", "mpeg", "mpg", "h264"

note: currently dxv is not supported, as dxv is not opensource.

special tags? how to filter my own clips?

own clips do get not only the tag "own" but also the diretories/folders and the filename are getting tags.
on downloaded clips the name of creator and the words of the title get tags. additionaly the link to the clip and the user on videopong.net are remembered, for votings and so on...

problems while adding tags?

to create a new tag that is a substring of another already created follow this: enter your new tag, press 'ESC' to remove the drop-down that proposes the available tags and then type comma ',' to finalize your new tag. don't forget to save.

upgrade or install problems?

if autoupgrade goes wrong please try to uninstall and reinstall current version manually

if you cant uninstall vpdude here some ideas, but do only where you know what you do!

linux version?

as we all love linux and currently want to let the vj to choose whatever os he likes, we might come up with a linux version when there is enough demand for it. vpDude is based on Adobe Air, which i s also available for linux. the included ffmpeg is also available. so if you're interested in a linux version please get in contact with us.
